The Cookaway: Delivered to Your Home

We just love chef Nidhi Verma’s The Cookaway food delivery service! Delicious adventures at home for you and your family and Nidhi explains how it all works…

The Cookaway is a no-subscription recipe box business run by a small but passionate team. We’ve launched an exciting new range of recipe boxes that make cooking at home a real adventure. With The Cookaway you can explore a variety of authentic cuisines created by experienced chefs, learn new skills and enjoy cooking and eating wholesome and delicious food together. Each Cookaway Chef is chosen for their expertise in a particular cuisine, and will have years of experience running kitchens, restaurants or cookery schools. Our chefs also have a strong passion for the heritage of the food they prepare, and an understanding of the way it is cooked and enjoyed in real homes. Authenticity, quality and variety are the principles we value most highly. Each and every ingredient we supply is carefully chosen by our experienced chefs because of its superior flavour or performance. We strive to bring you authentic recipes, prepared as they would be enjoyed in real homes. We believe that a healthy diet is a balanced diet, so our Head Nutritionist ensures that all our recipes include plenty of fresh vegetables, and a good balance of protein and slow-release carbohydrates.

Like many businesses we are looking for ways to adapt and become a source of positivity and support in challenging times. Our business is all about bringing our customers nutritious, wholesome and delicious food that they can prepare, share and enjoy at home. It seems to us that this is something that is more important now than ever, so here’s what we are doing.

  1. Delivering Food As Normal – The Cookaway is fully operational and able to dispatch all our Italian, Indian and Healthy menus including fresh veg, meat and dairy produce. We are still delivering nationally, and our logistics partner is doing their bit and no longer asking customers to sign for their boxes. Safety of our staff and customers comes before anything, so we have added extra procedures on top of our already stringent hygiene processes in line with advice from Public Health England.
  2. Cost price for key workers, and food bank donations – We are offering all our recipe boxes at cost price to anyone over 70, someone caring for a seriously ill person and all key workers dealing with the current crisis. Food banks are struggling at the moment, and we want to do our bit to help there, too. For every ten recipe or larder boxes sold, we are donating a full recipe box to our local food bank.
  3. New Cookaway Essential Larder Kits – We know some people are struggling to get hold of store cupboard essentials, and what a worry this can be. To help take the stress out of shopping, we’ve introduced a new ‘Larder Essentials Recipe Box’ with a selection of recipes put together by our Chefs. These can be delivered to your doorstep and will allow you to put together a simple, nutritious and tasty meal with no extra ingredients required.
  4. Adding a dose of happiness – With schools closed and families staying at home our recipe boxes can provide a healthy distraction and an entertaining family activity. Get the whole family involved in choosing, cooking and eating one of our Italian, Indian or Healthy menus, and share some well deserved fun together. We are a ‘no subscription’ service so you can order when and however you like.
